Wells Food Festival 9th October 2016 a celebration of local produce which showcases the area’s rich and diverse artisan sector.
Since 2013 the Wells Food Festival has gone from strength to strength and in 2016 will include a new venue called “Food for Thought”
Also an Artisan Market with over 100 food and drink stalls and three different talks in the Town Hall.
Open from 10.30 to 4.30 the market stalls will be set along the picturesque moat with the Bishop’s Palace in the background the Market Square and Recreation Ground.

From locally made cheeses & yoghurts to preserves, chocolates, breads, organic beef there is a vast diversity of Somerset foods and drinks to taste and buy.
Wells Town Hall also in the market square is hosting 3 three talks on Home Cured Meats, New English Wines and Cider Tasting. The talks run from 11.00 until 14.00.
New for 2016 is the “Food for Thought” marquee on the recreation ground and the organisers are showcasing a new education hub:

Our aim for this new education hub is to provide useful information about growing, cooking and enjoying sustainably produced food for less money and added health benefits.
We have a varied menu of delicious topics to get your teeth into from dark, rich growing mediums to soufflé light ideas for easy meals.
