A whole week of Halloween half term spooky fun at Barrington Court, Nr Ilminster, Somerset, TA19 0NQ
There is so much going on this half term, some of it is inside the house and some of it is in the garden and grounds outside, a perfect mix.
If you like to decorate and embellish things, you can go down to Jozef the woodcarver’s studio any day during half term week and paint your own hand cut wooden pumpkin decoration to take away.
Unleash your imagination and make your own super scary creature at our drop in shadow play sessions. If you are stuck for ideas there’s lots of inspiration all around you in the carvings you can see in the wood and stone of the house and gardens. There’s lots of strange creatures and funny faces. Ken and Jill from the Armchair Puppet Theatre will show you how, and then let you show your creation to its full effect on their special screen.
If you like making things with bits of sticks leaves and mud, get your wellies on and go down to the woods to make a den. Ranger George and his team will be on hand to help you. Bring your lunch too if you like and have a picnic in your completed den.
If you love to dress up and embrace the occasion, we’d love you to visit us on 30 October . This is our ‘spooks parade’ day, come along dressed up as your favourite ghost, ghoul or creature and see how many other spooks you can spot.
If you haven’t had time to sort out a costume don’t worry because we have a very talented face painter who will be here on the day. So it’s your choice how grim or gorgeous you want to look.
